1. Process of car valuation

The car valuation process includes 6 steps:

Step 1: Determine in general about the car to be appraised and determine the market or non-market value as a basis for valuation.

Step 2: Plan the appraisal.

Step 3: Field survey, collect information (appraisal of current status).

The actual survey of car valuation is very important in determining the exact market value of the car.

• Legal inspection of cars: legal documents showing the legitimacy of cars, detailed information that the appraiser needs to pay attention to including: date of first registration, year of manufacture, origin, year of entry use, brand, vehicle size, vehicle weight, engine working volume, number of people allowed to carry…

• Actual survey of cars: check the chassis and body for scratches, distort?, check the tires, the number of kilometers traveled, check the interior comfort, etc. The appraiser must always pay attention to the parameters related to the chassis number, engine number, paint color to compare with the registration to see if it matches.

• Besides, it is need to be check whether the car has been regularly maintained or not, regular maintenance vehicles will have a higher value. In addition, pay attention to the accompanying equipment,…

• Take photos of the actual survey: Take photos for the overall vehicle from the front, the overall vehicle from the rear, the two sides of the vehicle, capture the kilometers traveled by the vehicle, capture the interior of the cockpit, capture the interior of the rear seats, capture the system machine, take the chassis number.

• Step 4: Analyze the information

• Step 5: Determine the value of the car to be appraised.

• Step 6: Make a report on car valuation results, appraisal certificate and send it to customers and related parties.

2. Dossier of valuation for liquidated cars

• Vehicle registration certificates
• Certificate of insurance for motor vehicle
• Certificate of technical safety inspection and environmental protection of road motor vehicles

3. Method of valuation cars

In valuation of cars, recently, appraisers often apply the most popular and accurate valuation method which is the comparative method in the market approach “The market approach is a way to determine the value of an appraised car by comparing the appraised car with identical or similar cars that already have price information on the market”.

For comparative method, the appraiser is based on the results of analysis and comparison between the price level and the economic and technical characteristics that greatly affect the price of the car to be appraised with similar cars are traded on the domestic market; with reference to prices on regional and world markets (if any) at the time of valuation or near the time of valuation. The condition to implement the car comparison method is that there must be at least 3 comparable cars having public trading transactions on the market.
